LISBON - Entertainment will come in many varieties at this year's Columbiana County Fair which officially opens today.

There will be much to see not only at the grandstand this year, but around the fairgrounds as well.

New this year is magician and balloon artist Dennis Regling who will be performing four times daily at the picnic area.

According to his website, Regling has performed over 3,000 programs at schools, fairs, festivals, camps, churches, private parties and company events in 22 states. He has also been a part of Lisbon's Johnny Appleseed festival previously.

His website also says he is considered the country's "best strolling balloon artist" noting he doesn't just twist balloons, he makes it an experience.

Along with Regling, also new this year will be Arrival - the Journey Tribute Band which will be performing after bike night 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30.

"I am really excited about it," said Tresa Unkefer, secretary of the fair board.

According to the band's website, all the members are "seasoned veterans of the Cleveland rock scene." The website also says each band member has mastered the replication of Journey's sound to make the audience feel like they're at one of Journey's live concerts. They also won a "Best of Cleveland" award given by Cleveland magazine in 2012 for best tribute band.

A renewed feature in the Grandstand will be the high school Strongman competition 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug 2. It will be free admission into the stands.

Another act that will entertain this year is Brian Brenner who will do an Elvis tribute show, performing Tuesday, July 30, through Friday, Aug. 2 on the Midway stage.

According to his website, Brenner has been impersonating Elvis for the last 15 years. His website says he "is careful to portray Elvis in a manner that is dignified, respectful and historically accurate, paying strict attention to every detail."

Acts returning this year include singer Zach Paxson who will be joined by Jeremy Miller for a concert at the Grandstand at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31. This will be free admission into the Grandstand.

Also, Buffo the World's Strongest Clown will make appearances daily next to the Government Building on the lawn.

According to his website, he "is no ordinary clown ... he juggles bowling balls as well as hatchets, meat cleavers, fire and chain saws." He has also entertained at the White House, his website said.

Also returning is the truck and tractor pull 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Cost of admission into the stands will be $5. The combine demolition derby will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 and will also cost $5. Another Grandstand entertainment event that will cost $5 is the "Cavalcade of Thrills" car demo derby 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4.
