Catherine “Kit” Schlag

COLUMBIANA - Catherine "Kit" Schlag, 86, of 937 E. Park Ave. in Columbiana, died Sunday evening at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center, where she had resided since January.

Catherine was born on May 8, 1927 in Beaver, Pa., the daughter of the late G. Harry and Grace (Kibler) Ward, and relocated to the area as a child with her family.

A 1945 graduate of Columbiana High School, she retired as an office manager, a position which she held for 21 years, from the Harold Lower Nationwide Insurance Co. in 1985. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Waldo, whom she married Dec. 18, 1946; a daughter, Lana (Terry) Dobson of New Middletown; a son, Gary Schlag of Wallace, W. Va.; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Rambo officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Seederly-Mong and Beck funeral home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana
