Salem News

-Deputies were called Thursday night to the Traveler's Motel on state Route 45 in Lisbon where the manager, Matt Brittner, said Josh Stahl, 27, Newberry, Fla., had been harassing other patrons. Stahl was told by deputies to leave and not return or he would be charged with trespassing. Stahl left, but deputies were called again to the motel on Friday, where he was charged with trespassing. That afternoon, Kim Ladany, acting manager of the Frola Motel on state Route 45, Lisbon, reported Stahl had rented a room the previous night and, although check-out time was 10 a.m., he was still "standing around" outside at noon. Stahl told deputies he was waiting for a ride with a friend, who also had a room. They left while deputies were still there.

-Janice Morgan reported Friday she had recently moved to Colorado, and she has learned items have been stolen from her property on state Route 170 in Middletown Township.

-Debra Bloor, Slater Road, Salem, reported finding a fraudulent charge on her bank account of $360 to a California company. She needed a report completed.

- Jennifer Engler, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, reported Saturday she had allowed her cousin's family to move in with her and they are now not getting along, so she wants them to leave. Engler was advised she would have to go through the proper eviction process, but her cousin's husband advised deputies they were in the process of moving. Deputies stood by while they packed up and left since the two families were still arguing.

- George Baird, state Route 9, Hanoverton, reported Saturday he went to the bank and learned there was a large sum of money missing, with several unauthorized transactions made out of state since March.

- Ron Wisbeth, Low Road, Rogers, reported someone trespassing and tampering with his property. Deputies checked the area in cruisers and on foot but found no one.

-Linda Scott, Guy Road, Lisbon, reported signing a contract with a man from a home improvement company, and she now believes it may have been a scam because she has not since heard from him or a person who was supposed to come to her home.
