Salem News

A luncheon was held at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center recently to honor participants in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). A special award was given to volunteers who have served the community for 10 or more years. In no order, the volunteers honored were: Virginia Begalla, Lillian Chick, Louis Cosentino, Margaret DePasquale, Elma Dixson, William McClish, Viola Noel, Martha Parsons, Dorothy Posey, Pauletta Schaffer, Shirley Stryffeler, Bettylou Theiss, E. Jane Thompson and Marilyn Wire. The RSVP program encourages county residents age 55 and older to volunteer by matching them with non-profit groups, charitable groups, education and health care organizations seeking volunteers.
