SALEM - Donald E. Stiffler, 78, of Salem, died Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2013, at the Auburn Skilled Nursing Center in Damascus.
He was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Regis and Lucille (Fites) Stiffler.
Don was a Salem High School graduate and a retired farmer and mason. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A. and an avid Harley Davidson "Hog" motorcycle rider.
His wife, Ruth Ann "Sally" (Metzgar) Stiffler, whom he married Nov. 5, 1952, preceded him in death on May 9, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Dan Stiffler of Salem and Calvin Stiffler of Conway, Ark.; a daughter, Cindy Spaulding of Arizona City, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Shawn and Heather Spaulding and Kayli and Kori Stiffler; three great-grandchildren, Joel Van Pelt, Jonah Linn Morgan and Delanynie Spaulding; and a step-grandchild, Leilani.
Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Woodsdale Cemetery with Pastor Robert Laughlin officiating. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements were handled by the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
