Rummage sale set at Game Club

NEGLEY - A rummage sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Middleton Township Fish and Game Club, 50501 Richardson Ave. Household items, clothing, shoes, books, movies, kerosene heaters, toys, sewing machines, etc., are available.

Chancellorsville re-enactment planned

LISBON The Columbiana County Park District will present "Jackson in the Valley: 150th anniversary Battle of Chancellorsville" at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lisbon gazebo. Civil War soldiers will march through town on their way to reenact the Battle of Chancellorsville which was fought from April 30 to May 6, 1863. The reenactors will be in uniform as well as the ladies in costume.

Memorial Day services set in Hanoverton

HANOVERTON - Memorial Day services in Hanoverton begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Betz Park.

Deming retirees to meet for breakfast

SALEM - Deming retirees and former employees are invited to breakfast at 8 a.m. Monday at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Ham, scalloped potatoes offered at Banquet

SALEM - The Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. Next week's sponsor is Visiting Angels. Blood drive planned at Damascus church

DAMASCUS - The Damascus, Beloit and Goshen Center Ruritan clubs are co-sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. May 21 at the Damascus United Methodist Church on Valley Road.

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1950 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. May 22 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Rummage sale set at St. Jacob's Church

LISBON - The public is invited to a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 22 and 23 at St. Jacob's United Church of Christ, 5219 St. Jacob's Logton Road, five miles north of Lisbon. The sale is also open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 24. Lunch will be available for purchase.

East Palestine food pantry open May 22

EAST PALESTINE - The food pantry at Grace Lutheran Church, 87 W. Grant St., will be open from 9:30 to 11 a.m. May 22 for East Palestine School District residents only.

Country Clovers plan breakfast for veterans

EAST PALESTINE - Country Clovers 4-H Club will again host its annual free breakfast for veterans on May 25 at the East Palestine American Legion. Breakfast for veterans and their families will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. All veterans are welcome. For information call 330-787-1746.

Salem Masons to offer breakfast buffet

SALEM-A public breakfast buffet will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. May 25 at the Salem Masonic Building, 788 E. State St.

Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea. The building is equipped with a handicapped accessible elevator. Proceeds will be directed to the Salem Masonic Building Fund.

Columbiana Meals on Wheels drawing set

COLUMBIANA - Meals on Wheels is sponsoring a "Cash for Christmas" drawing. Only 300 tickets will be sold at $5 each. The grand prize is $500 cash. For information or to purchase tickets call 330-482-0366.

Hazardous mitigation plan ready for review

LISBON - The Columbiana County Hazard Mitigation Core Planning Committee recently completed updating its hazardous mitigation plan identifying hazards and steps that can be taken to minimize impacts. The report is available for public review at the EMA offices in Lisbon from May 20-24.
