LISBON - An East Liverpool man was sentenced to prison on domestic violence charges during a hearing last week in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

Ronald L. Briggs, 49, Norton Street, East Liverpool, was sentenced to nine months in prison by Judge Scott Washam, with credit for 128 days served in the county jail, after previously pleading guilty to felony domestic violence. The charge was a felony because Briggs had a prior domestic violence conviction.

The crime occurred in East Liverpool on Nov. 21, 2012, when Roxanne Neville said Briggs entered her home and began cutting up her furniture after accusing her of having a man in the house. He then grabbed Neville by the head to bite her on the neck, saying she was his property.

In other action, Christie L. Thrasher, 32, Anderson Avenue, Wellsville, is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 1 after pleading guilty to the following drug charges: selling heroin in Wellsville on Sept. 27; possessing amphetamine tablets in Wellsville on Sept. 27; and possession two orange tablets containing Buprenorphine in Wellsville on Sept. 27.

Mitchell O. Lacey, 41, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11 after pleading guilty as charged to drug possession. A small amount of heroin was found in the console of Lacey's car following a traffic stop in Salineville on April 20, 2012.
