From Staff Reports - South Range boys and girls capture Clipper Invite titles , Salem News

COLUMBIANA - It was a banner day for South Range Track at the 11th annual Clipper Invitational on Saturday.

The Raider boy's team took home first place, led by Tim Nichols, who collected a meet-high 22 1/2 points, and Jon Kenney, who dominated the field events, racking up 20 points.

Kenney, who finished first in both the discus and shot put, took home the "Boots" Hawkins award as the best field event performer.

Nichols set meet and stadium records in the 1600 meter run (4:38.0) and the 3200 meter run (9:40.6)

The Raiders also took home first place on the girls side, racking up 159 points.

South Range's Raianna Mason set a meet record in the 300 hurdles (48.8).

Chloe Snyder of East Palestine finished first in the high jump and long jump, taking home 20 points and winning the "Boots" Hawkins Best Field Event Performer. Snyder tied a meet record in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.
