LEETONIA - Pastor William H. Williamson, 64, of Leetonia, Ohio, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Aultman Hospital in Canton.
He was born June 15, 1948, in Canton, a son of the late William H. and Bettie (Wendling) Williamson.
Pastor Bill attended Lincoln High School. He served as pastor at the Southeast Evangelical Friends Church in Salem for 20 years and one and a half years at West Park Evangelical Friends in Cleveland. He was recorded in 1995. Before going into the ministry, he had been a self-employed carpenter and attended both the Alliance First Church of God and the Alliance Friends Church.
Pastor Bill was a member of the Friends Disaster Services, Salem Ministerial Association and the Banquet of Salem. He also coached Little Aviators football and baseball along with Hot Stove baseball. He was a long time fan of the Canton McKinley Bulldogs and enjoyed sports.
His wife, Marilyn (Booth) Williamson, whom he married Nov. 23, 1971, survives him along with three sons, Michael (Calandra) Williamson of Knoxville, Tenn., Marc Williamson of Alliance and Willie (Anna) Williamson of Sevierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Michelle Jenkins of Sevierville, Tenn.; sister, Darlene (Mike) Ferguson of Alliance; brother, Scot (Pat) Williamson of Southington, Ohio; two stepsons, Danny (Tammy) Dicko of Alliance, Brian (Tracy) Dicko of Alliance; stepdaughter, Lesa Tucker of East Rochester; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. John Williams, general superintendent of the Eastern Region of Evangelical Friends Church.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.
