LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court Thursday, a May 6 preliminary hearing was set for Ryan S. Railing, 19, Walker Road, East Liverpool, charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs for an alleged 38.5 grams of marijuana packaged in several smaller packages and two hydrocodone pills found in the vehicle he was driving Tuesday. A pretrial will be held the same day on a drug paraphernalia charge for glass pipe reportedly found in the car's center console.
David Diaz, Shadylane, Salem, was fined $875, had his license suspended for six months, sentenced to three days in jail and required 30 hours community service for OVI first offense, two lights displayed and possession of marijuana.
Eric S. McFarland, 34, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $300, had his license suspended for 12 months, required 30 hours community service and sentenced to three days in jail for driving under OVI suspension.
Jeffrey A. Culp Jr., 24, West Seventh Street, Salem, was sentenced to 30 days in jail immediately for failure to appear at probation revocation hearings for past convictions resisting arrest and two counts criminal trespassing.
Dylan C. Stack, 18, Beverly, was fined $250 and required 30 hours community service for underage consumption.
Matthew L. Faulkner, 21, state Route 170, East Palestine, was fined $150 and required 50 hours community service for driving under suspension and failure to control.
James D. Sherman, 28, Brinkley, Ark., and Chris A. Yohe, 47, Beaver Falls, Pa., were each fined $100 for speeding.
Mont E. Meckler Jr., 39, East North Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $50 for expired registration.
A May 30 pretrial was set for Charitey A. Riggs, 19, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly taking $204 in merchandise from Walmart in Salem, including a purse, shoes, clothing and make up.
A May 30 pretrial was set for Steven M. Jacobs, 55, Canton, cited for driving under suspension, fictitious registration, failure to display a valid sticker and receiving stolen property for stolen items allegedly found in the back of the pickup he was driving on Tuesday.
A May 30 pretrial was set for Joshua M. Flanagan, 32, Canton, charged with criminal damaging for allegedly breaking apart the dash of a car in an attempt to steal the radio in the parking lot of Foster Trucking on Tuesday. Flanagan was taken into custody after deputies stopped the pickup Jacobs driving.
A June 6 pretrial was set for Larry A. Macklin Jr., 32, North Pearl Street, Columbiana, cited with driving under FRA suspension and a traffic control devices violation.
A June 20 pretrial was set for Nathan Courtney, 26, South Broadway, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly assisting another man with taking tractor wheel weights and scrap from the back of a garage on Franklin Avenue, Salem, on April 29. The wheel weights are valued at about $200 per set. The two men allegedly took the items to Quaker City Auto Parts to scrap them, receiving a$65.
A June 20 pretrial was set for Jennifer A. Hepfner, 19, Cunningham Road, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly driving Courtney and another man to a Franklin Avenue address on Monday where they intended to steal tractor wheel weights and other metal to scrap and then driving them to Quaker City Auto Parts so they could scrap the stolen items.
