Log House museum open today, Saturday

COLUMBIANA - The Columbiana Log House Museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. today and Saturday. A special outdoor exhibit will be featured on Saturday.

Board of Elections will meet Monday

LISBON - Columbiana County Board of Elections' regular session begins at 5 p.m. Monday at the board office at 7989 Dickey Drive, Suite 3.

MCCTC offering spring plant sale

CANFIELD - The spring plant sale, sponsored by the horticulture program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, starts Monday.

Horticulture students have prepared items including assorted annuals, hanging baskets and fresh tomatoes and peppers. Flats of flowers will also be available.

The Horticulture Green House will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday throughout May until all items are sold. For more information call Mary June Emerson at 330-729-4000 Ext. 1671.

SHS Class of 1939 will meet for lunch

SALEM - Lunch will be served when the Salem High School Class of 1939 meets at 11:30 a.m. May 8 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Crestview BOE will meet May 8

COLUMBIANA - The regular meeting of the Crestview Local Board of Education begins at 6:30 p.m. May 8 in the auditorium at Crestview High School.

Salem Area Retired Employees will meet

SALEM - Lunch will be provided when the Salem Area Retired Employees meet at noon May 9 at the CIO Hall, 547 Prospect St.

East Palestine HS's talent show is May 10

EAST PALESTINE - East Palestine High School will host its annual talent show at 7 p.m. May 10 in the high school auditorium.

Each year the sponsors of this show, the EPHS Rotary Interact Club, chooses a charity to benefit from the collected donations.

This year, cash donations will be accepted at the door and sent to the Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University.

All-you-can-eat soup night planned May 11

NEGLEY - All-you-can-eat soup night is slated from 4 to 7 p.m. May 11 at the Negley Masonic Lodge, 50873 Richardson Ave.

Cost for adults is $7 for the oyster soup, and $6 for wedding, beef barley, bean, chicken noodle and chili. Cost is $4 for children 12 and under. Carryouts are available.

SCC offering lifeguard training course

SALEM - The Salem Community Center is offering a lifeguard training course from May 13-24.

Classes will run weeknights from 5 to 8. Cost is $220 for members and $260 for non-members. To register call 330-332-5885.

Columbiana Senior Citizens meet May 14

COLUMBIANA - Pizza will be served when the Columbiana Senior Citizens meet at 10 a.m. May 14 at the Upper Room.

Members will also meet on May 28 at the same time and place and are reminded to bring a sack lunch.

Highlandtown Volunteer FD plans auction

SALINEVILLE The Highlandtown Volunteer Fire Department's annual auction begins at 2 p.m. May 18 at 18371 Steubenville-Pike Road.
