Celebrating Founders’ Day

The event Tuesday night, which fell on the anniversary of Salem's founding, featured attorney Tim Brookes talking about Morgan's Raid. Other honorees included four businesses who contributed to the Dale Shaffer Legacy Time Capsule Project, including Fred and Tom Baker of Salem Welding & Supply Co., John and Jock Buta of Butech Bliss, Russell Loudon of Stark Memorial Inc. and Henry Spack of Henry Spack Service Inc. The time capsule will be buried during a ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday in front of the Dale Shaffer Research Library. (Salem News photo by Mary Ann Greier)
