WINONA - James Eugene Owen, 62, of Winona went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, April 21, 2013 at his home.
James was born March 4, 1951 in Alliance the son of the late Stanley V. and Mary Louise (Ormiston) Owen. He was a graduate of United Local High School, class of 1969. After graduating he served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1975. Jim was employed at Global Pak, a division of MPI Labels.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline (Boyle) Owen, whom he married June 26, 1976; two sons and a daughter in law, Michael Owen and Mark (Nikki) Owen; a sister, Jeanne Rick) Lunger; six brothers, Clyde (Deanna) Owen, Terry (Randi) Owen, his twin Timothy (Suzie) Owen, Robert (Elaine) Owen, Stephen (Lynn) Owen, and Daniel Owen. Jim is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins whom he loved deeply.
Jim was not only a family man but also held his friends close to his heart.
He inspired many whether through his love for gardening, cooking or trapping and was always willing to share.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley in 2008 and Mary in 2012.
Jim and Jackie attended the Winona Friends Church where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Rusty Savage officiating. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Winona Friends Church.
Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
