LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Monday Walter P. Whaley, 44, Hillview Drive, Hanoverton, was bound over to the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury on a domestic violence charge. According to court documents, Whaley threatened to beat Della Reed and has three previous domestic violence convictions. Bond was set at $50,000.

Levi D. Holloway, 19, Crestview Road, Leetonia, was fined $975, had his license suspended for 180 days, sentenced to three days in driving prevention school and required 50 hours of community service for OVI first offense, hit skip, failure to control and reckless operation.

Marcus A. Prendes, 30, Iowa Street, Wellsville, was fined $525, sentenced to 19 remaining days in jail with credit for 31 already served and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension, speeding and obstructing official business. The latter charge stemmed from Prendes attempting to pass off to the probation's department another person's urine as his own using a contraption hidden under his clothing.

Douglas L. Smith, 41, Vine Avenue, Salem, was fined $300, sentenced to four remaining days in jail and required 30 hours community service for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after police were called to the home three times on Jan. 10 for domestic disputes and then Smith failed to cooperate with arresting officers.

Jacklyn S. Solomon, 29, Yates Road, Salem, was fined $250 and required 30 hours community service for underage consumption for selling alcohol to an undercover minor.

Derrik A. Bruce, 25, South Seneca Avenue, Alliance, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Janice C. Allmon, 68, Cleveland Street, Salem, was fined $100 and required 25 hours community service for obstruction of official business for hampering the duties of Salem police attempting to take her son into custody on a warrant.

Miguel B. Velasco, 34, Vine Street, Salem, was fined $130 for no license, speeding and a seat belt violation.

Andrew J. Duko, 21, East Fourth Street, Salem, was fined $100 and required 20 hours community service for driving under suspension and improper registration.

Joshualee B. Hackney, 32, 18th Street, Wellsville, was fined $50, credited with two days served in jail and had his license suspended for 180 days for drug paraphernalia for silver marijuana pipe.

Steven M. Davis, 24, Bacon Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $50 and required 20 hours community service for driving under suspension.

A domestic violence charge against Cynthia A. Cornwell, 47, Hawkins Road, New Waterford, was dismissed. Court documents alleged Cornwell had slapped her 13-year-old son in the face. The boy had appeared in custody of the juvenile court and Assistant County Prosecutor Don Humphrey Jr. noted it was a case where he had to attempt to walk a fine line between parents disciplining their child and child abuse. The family is already in counseling through the juvenile court.

An April 25 pretrial was set for Aaron D. Shrum, 36, East Taggart Street, New Waterford, cited with obstructing official business for allegedly running when police came to a home on Silliman Street, New Waterford, in an attempt to serve a warrant on him.

An April 29 pretrial was set for Tanya N. Sudimak, 21, West Ely Street, Alliance, and Molly A. Stroup, 21, Hartville, each charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting merchandise from Dollar General on East State Street in Salem on Sunday.

A May 13 pretrial was set for Jessica L. Styen, 24, Kirk Road, Columbiana, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing Anthony Foote, her live-in boyfriend, by the neck and twisting his necklace choking him.

A May 13 pretrial was set for Joseph C. Dominic, 25, East Texas Avenue, Sebring, cited with driving under suspension.

A May 23 pretrial was set for Thomas Henry, 68, Shady Lane, Lisbon, cited with failure to confine his dog.

A May 28 pretrial was set for Brigit Y. Young, 44, West Ely Street, Alliance, was charged with falsification for allegedly turning in false community service time sheets from the Alliance Community Pantry signed by the name of a person who does not manage the pantry.

A May 30 pretrial was set for Julie A. Barnett, 46, Irondale, cited with driving under suspension.

A June 4 pretrial was set for Thomas M. Morey, 19, Winona Road, Homeworth, cited with no license.

A June 4 pretrial was set for Daniel L. Wheeler, 50, Wyalusing, Pa., charged with OVI first offense, hit skip and failure to control.

An Oct. 22 step sentencing hearing was set for Michael E. Mayer, 18, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, charged with underage consumption.
