SEBRING - Marie Elizabeth Sorge, 83, passed away on April 17, 2013.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1929. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1948.
She married Joseph Sorge, April 19, 1958, and resided in Salem, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Rose, and her brother, Joseph Mastroianni.
She was active at Saint Paul Catholic Church of Salem, contributing her time and efforts to various charities both locally and beyond. She was passionate about her faith and helping others in their time of need.
She is survived by her husband and three children, Scott Sorge of Burlingame Calif., John Sorge of Denver, Colo., and Brian Sorge of San Francisco Calif.; five grandchildren, Anthony, Rachel, Gabrielle, C.J., and Gianna; one sister, Helen Swinnerton Kriegel; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to EWTN Global Catholic Network, St. Joseph Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D., or Hospice of the Valley in Poland, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Father Bob Edwards officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m.
