SALEM - The Mane Perfection Beauty Salon is expanding into a beauty supplier with the addition of a new showroom just around the corner in the same building.

Mane Perfection Salon and Supplies is located at 2368 E. State St., Suite A, which is most quickly identified as being in the Mane Perfection Building on the east end of the Salem Plaza, just behind the Salem Wendy's.

Terri Rasul owns the building and with Luxury Nails leaving she saw a need for a supply venue that offers wigs, purses, jewelry, wedding attire and jewelry, hair extensions, clip extensions, make-up, tiaras, hair dryer, curling irons, sunglasses, along with the store's own line of Mane Perfection hair and beauty products.

Mane Perfection Salon and Supplies, located at 2368 E. State St., Suite A, opened a new showroom Tuesday in the Mane Perfection Building in the Salem Plaza. The business is a new venture by Terri Rasul, owner of the Mane Perfection Salon, and is in the same building as the salon. Rasul said, “We’ll always have something different” while adding cancer patients searching for wigs “is a big thing” with her. The wigs are synthetic and made from human hair and the store also carries CHI beauty products.

"We'll always have something different," she said.

Rasul is celebrating 15 years in business in Salem at the Mane Perfection Salon where she employs eight full-time beauticians and has hired three part-time employees for the beauty supply store.

"We have girls (in the Salon) with over 30 years of experience," she said.

A big thing for Rasul is wigs for cancer patients who receive a free consultation and free hair cut

when they first come in to Mane Perfection.

She is working on certification from the American Cancer Society to become a "wig bank" for cancer patients.

'There's nothing in the area," she said and explained that one dollar from every purchase from the Mane Perfection product line will go to the American Cancer Society.

Rasul said the store also has hats and turbans for cancer patients who don't want to wear a wig all the time.

The Mane Perfection Building is handicapped accessible and there are two entrances from East State Street, one on each side of Wendy's.

Rasul said if a customer can't find anything the can shop from a catalogue.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and form 10 a.m. t0 4 p.m. on Sunday.
