LISBON - A man accused of robbing at knifepoint a couple walking in Salem on Saturday had an April 8 preliminary hearing set in Columbiana County Municipal Court. Bond was set at $100,000.
Shane M. Blake, 25, East Fifth Street, Salem, is charged with robbery. Court documents alleged Mary and Gary Shasteen were walking on West Ninth Street near North Howard Avenue at about 9:10 p.m. Saturday. Blake reportedly got out of a car, approached the Shasteens with a knife in his hand and demanded they give up their money or wallet. Gary Shasteen and Blake reportedly were involved in a slight altercation and Blake left the area in his car.
An April 8 pretrial was set for Bryan R. Haney, Ravenna, charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon for an alleged loaded handgun and six and a half-inch blade on the front passenger seat of the vehicle he was sitting in in the Circle K parking lot on South Lincoln Avenue in Salem at 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
Renee Snyder, 44, Unity Road, New Springfield, was fined $1,025, had her license suspended for three years and sentenced to three days in jail for OVI first offense, turn signal violation, left of center and failure to comply for fleeing nearly two miles before pulling over for New Waterford police.
David J. Murphy, 21, Westville Lake Road, Beloit, was fined $700, sentenced to 20 days in jail and had his license suspended for 180 days for OVI first offense and speeding amended from reckless operation.
Kevin A. Burkholder, 20, Campbell, was fined $400 and sentenced to 28 remaining days in jail for underage consumption.
Justin R. Coblentz, 19, Columbia Street, Salem, was fined $100 and sentenced to 170 days in jail for theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, which was amended from a felony burglary charge. Coblentz was accused of breaking into his grandparents home and stealing a vacuum.
Beth A. Nott, 48, East Rebecca Street, East Palestine, was fined $100 and had her license suspended for 180 days for possession of marijuana. A possession of drug paraphernalia citation was dismissed.
Paul D. Cerbus, 53, Timberline Drive, Columbiana, was fined $100 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.
Patrick S. Gilmore, Chester, W.Va., was fined $100 for unsafe vehicle amended from a stop sign violation.
Roberta L. Beabout, 51, Green Street, Lisbon, was fined $100 for no license amended from driving under suspension.
A driving under FRA suspension citation against Travis Levi Neeley, 20, Main Street, Wellsville, was dismissed.
An April 8 pretrial was set for Brian Buckley, 20, last known address Wood Street, East Palestine, charged with underaged consumption and obstruction of official business for allegedly fleeing East Palestine police leading to him being tased on Sunday.
An April 11 pretrial was set for Craig A. Apinis, 34, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly forcing his way into the home he shares with his girlfriend and kicking their 17-month-old son in the back.
An April 30 pretrial was set for Rodney H. VanFossen, 48, Union Avenue, Minerva, cited with OVI first offense, hit-skip and assured clear distance.
An April 30 pretrial was set for Bryant W. Nestor, 23, Glasgow Road, Salineville, cited with OvI first offense and failure to control.
A May 5 pretrial was set for Cody W. Landsberger, 19, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, cited with hit skip and assured clear distance.
A May 6 motion and pretrial hearing was set for John D. Gbur, 45, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly biting and pulling the hair of Kacey A. Rohaley, the mother of his 3-year-old child.
A May 6 pretrial was set for Robert J. Masi, 19, Poland, cited with underage consumption for his alleged drinking at a party on Fair Avenue, Salem, in February.
A May 9 pretrial was set for Thomas L. Peterson, 48, St. Jacobs Logtown Road, Leetonia, cited with criminal trespassing for allegedly going to Applegrove Apartments when he was ordered not to be there.
A May 13 pretrial was set for Maria C. Lopez, 30, Louisville, cited with failure to control.
A June 3 pretrial was set for Donald G. Custer, 64, South Egypt Road, Salem, charged with menacing for allegedly threatening to "blast" a neighbor when he came home from work and had a weapon tucked into his belt.
