Salem reports

- Police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 4:32 p.m. Friday for a report of an attempted suicide. Upon arrival police located a man who was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The person's wife was found deceased in an upstairs bedroom and the matter remains under investigation by the Columbiana Coroner's office.

- Police responded to the 400 block of Sharp Street at 4:05 p.m. Friday where the resident reported a burglary. The incident is under investigation.

- A possible shoplifting was reported in the 2800 block of E. State Street at 7:10 p.m. Friday and police stood by and cleared after no criminal activity was observed.

- A Columbia Gas employee stopped police at 7:39 p.m. Friday at S. Lundy Avenue and E. Euclid Street to advised of a vehicle operating in a reckless manner. Police checked the area but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description given.

- Police checked for a vehicle operating in a reckless manner in Centennial Park at 7:42 p.m. Friday but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description given.

- Kevin A. Burkholder of Campbell was charged with underage consumption at 9:21 p.m. Friday after police responded to a residence in the 1600 block of S. Lincoln Avenue to serve an outstanding warrant. He was taken to the Columbiana County jail.

- Police responded to the 200 block of Park Avenue at 9:25 p.m. Friday where the complainant advised someone was in his residence without permission. Police located a juvenile friend of the complainants who said he let himself in. He was advised of the error of his ways.

- Police responded to the Oak Street and Southeast Boulevard intersection for a report of reckless operation but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description given.

- While on patrol in the 500 block of S. Broadway Avenue at 11:38 p.m. Friday, police observed a a man outside the tavern with an open container. Robert M. Hall, 911 Franklin Avenue, was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for an open container.

- Police responded to the 100 block of Railroad Street at 2:40 a.m. Saturday for a complaint for a sexual assault that occurred at a local bar. Information was gathered and the report is under investigation.

- Police charged Chad D. Fowler, 34115 Salem-Grange Road with physical control at 7:34 a.m. Friday after responding to the 1000 block of E. State Street and finding him sleeping at the wheel of a running vehicle that was blocking an alleyway.

- Police responded to the 1200 block of Mound Street at 319 p.m. Friday for a civil issue regarding a person who moved out and was attempting to retrieve the rest of her clothing and property.

- Police responded to the 700 block of Superior Avenue at 1:55 p.m. Friday where a complainant had found a small plastic bag with white items in it. The Drug Task Force will have to check it out.

- Police responded to the 500 block of Bricker Farm Lane at 2:04 p.m. Friday where the complainant advised of receiving threatening calls from a person who sounded like a juvenile. The complainant will contact their phone company.

- A female complainant was on station at 3:05 p.m. Friday to advise that over the past week money was removed from checking account with debit purchases on the Internet. She was given a report number.
