SALEM - Charles Frank Mills, 76, of Salem, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1936 in Pattersonville, Ohio, the son of the late Frank F. and Frances (McConnell) Mills.
Mr. Mills was a graduate of Augusta High School and served with the National Guard for six years. He had worked as a meat processor for Kiko Meats for 10 years and had previously worked for Libers Meats and Homestead Meats in Alliance.
He attended the Church of the Nazarene in Salem.
His wife, Ellen P. (Heck) Mills, whom he married Aug. 11, 2007, survives him along with a son, Kevin (Wendy) Mills of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Melinda Mills of Austin, Texas; three stepdaughters, Amy (Jair) Loyd of Herrin, Ill., Jane (Patrick) Shoemaker of Salem and Julie (Kurt) Eick of Rossford, Ohio; and three sisters, Carrie (Fred) Wilson of Malvern, Ruth Van Meter of Minerva and Phyllis (Paul) Knoebel of Clinton, Ohio; three brothers, John (Nancy) Mills of Minerva, Richard Mills of Jeromesburg, Ohio, and Ross Mills of Minerva; a granddaughter, Selene Mills of Austin, Texas; five step grandsons; a step great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
A sister, June Gascon, and a stepson, Tom Close, preceded him in death.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home followed by a brief ceremony. A memorial funeral service at the Grandview Cemetery Chapel will be held at a later date.
