Rescue Mission Chapel Praise Team to perform Sunday

COLUMBIANA - The Rescue Mission Chapel Praise Team will perform on Sunday at Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, 14550 New Buffalo Road. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.

Leetonia Mennonite Church

LEETONIA - A free meal will be served at 6 p.m. April 3 at the Leetonia Mennonite Church. A program follows at 7 p.m. provided by Jenelle Martin titled "Life at Catalpa Grove Farm."

A community Easter egg hunt begins at 10:30 a.m. March 30 at the church.

Volunteer Fair set at

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

SALEM - A Volunteer Fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 21 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 291 S. Broadway Ave. Those attending will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of organizations that are looking for volunteers. There will be free refreshments, face painting, prizes and give-a-ways. Everyone will receive a free ticket to win one of many baskets from the basket raffle.

Banquet in Salem to be held in Bob Myers memory

SALEM - The Banquet in Salem will be held in memory of Bob Myers from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building. Myers served as the greeter at the Banquet as well as an active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteer at its food pantry. The menu will consist of his favorite Banquet meal: chicken noodle soup, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fresh vegetables and fruits, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ice cream sundaes. Music will be provided by Will "Butch" Hallewell and his guitar students who regularly entertain at the Banquet. The meal is sponsored by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, one of the four congregations that founded the Banquet in 2004. New sponsors are needed. Skill evaluations for Women's Basketball League set

DAMASCUS - Skill evaluations begin at 9 a.m. Saturday for the Damascus Friends Church Women's Basketball League. This league is open to all women out of high school and high school students who were not part of a school league. All skill levels desired. Games will be played Saturday mornings.

There is still time to register for the men's basketball league on Mondays. Skill evaluations will continue at 6:30 pm. March 25.

Public invited to Easter

services at Grace Lutheran

EAST PALESTINE - The public is invited to Holy Week and Easter services at the Grace Lutheran Church, 87 W. Grant St.

Worship begins at 10:45 a.m. on Palm Sunday, March 24. A reception follows.

Maundy Thursday on March 28 features a candlelight communion service around the tables in the fellowship hall at 7:15 p.m.

Good Friday on March 29 offers a Tenebrae service at 7:15 p.m.

Easter Sunday services on March 31 start with worship with communion at 10:45 a.m.

'Waving of Palms' set at New Waterford United Methodist

NEW WATERFORD - The public is invited to the "waving of the palms" during the Palm Sunday service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 S. State St.

Holy Week services set at Calla Community Church

CANFIELD - Calla Community Church at 6482 W. Calla Road will hold Holy Week services at 7 p.m. on Good Friday, March 29. Pastor James Houston will present the message assisted by Ralph Wince, lay pastor, and organist Karen Hanna. For more information call the church at 330-533-6007.

Pleasant Heights Baptist

EAST LIVERPOOL - Friends Day will be observed on Sunday at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Special music will be provided by Gary and Judy Edmonds, Ken Clark, and others. The church is located at 1817 Montana Ave.
