NEGLEY - Virginia Louise Dickey Norton, 91, a lifelong resident of Negley, died at 9:45 pm Saturday at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, East Palestine, following a brief illness.
She was born March 10, 1922, a daughter of William and Inez (Young) Dickey.
Virginia was a homemaker and member of Negley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, William Norton of Mississippi; two daughters, Shirl (Rich) Rollins of Bellevue, Neb., and Sandy (Bob) Ellis of East Palestine; a brother, Don "Peewee" Dickey of Negley; 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Norton, a son, Gary Norton, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Negley United Methodist Church with Pastor Kathy L. Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
