BELOIT -Joseph Emmor Bush, 92, of Beloit, formerly of Salem, died at 9:30 a.m.
Monday at the Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Damascus. He was born June 12, 1920 in Salem, the son of the late George E. and Florence (Ritchie) Bush.
Mr. Bush, who was baptized April 20, 1938, was a long time member of the First Christian Church and served in many positions in his early years. He graduated from Salem High School class of 1938 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Joe retired as the owner of Penn Shoe Repair Shop.
Joe was a former member of I.O.O.F. Lodge in Damascus and was active in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in Salem and Damascus. He was a long time blood donor and a 50+year member of Sevakeen Country Club.
His wife, Dolores M. (Jones) Bush, whom he married Sept. 18, 1942, survives him along with daughter, Linda A. (Charles) Jackson; son, Geoffrey L. (Leslie Landwert) Bush; and grandchildren, Kelly Hughes, Kevin and Kyle Billingsley and Christopher Bush; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Grant and Mitchell Hughes, Julia and Jerry Billingsley, Lucas and Johnny Billingsley; and many nieces and nephews.
Three sisters, Martha Bush, Pearl Lentz, Hazel Latour; two brothers, Phillip E. and Arthur E. Bush preceded him in death.
His body was donated to Case Western Reserve Medical Science. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
