SALEM
- A man on Goshen Road came to the police station at 1:07 p.m. Monday to report he's tired of another male attempting to hit on his wife while she's at the library. The wife sat in the vehicle and didn't talk to police. An officer contacted the other male about the complaint and he said he only talked to two other people using the computers. He said it was a false accusation.
- Marlin Catlos, 50, of 1151 Beechwood Road, was charged with disorderly conduct at 12:20 p.m. Monday for a recent incident.
- A Union Avenue resident at 12:01 p.m. Monday reported coming out of the alley by Pure Pet on Penn Avenue when an older male in a small minivan became irate and tried to block him in by the parking lot area, then tried to pull up beside his vehicle on Penn in the wrong lane and attempted to get out. The resident went home and called police. Officers checked the area, but didn't find the minivan.
- A gold-colored vehicle was reported operating recklessly in the area of West State Street and Georgetown Road at 11:27 a.m. Monday. The vehicle registration came back to a woman living in Perry Township. Perry Township Police were aware of the situation.
- A man on Vine Avenue at 10:06 a.m. Monday had questions and concerns about his 17-year-old son. He was given information and told he could contact the juvenile bureau. He was also given the number for Children Services.
- Police were called at 10:26 p.m. Sunday for a verbal dispute between tenants in the 200 block of East Fourth Street. All were told the consequences if threats or violence developed. They were told to stay away from each other.
- Police were called at 9:47 p.m. Sunday to a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 800 block of East Third Street for an improperly parked SUV which was parked perpendicular to marked parking spaces in front of several other parked vehicles. The owner was contacted and moved the SUV.
- An anonymous caller at 9:36 p.m. Sunday reported a barking dog outside without proper shelter in the 400 block of East Eighth Street. Officers located the dog, but were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence. The humane officer responded, but was unable to take control of the dog. A warning tag was left at the property.
- An officer on patrol at 7:22 p.m. Sunday in Centennial Park was stopped and advised of a juvenile problem which is under investigation.
- Police were called at 5:40 p.m. Sunday to Centennial Park for a fight in progress, but found the parties talking. The group accused of instigating the problem voluntarily left the park.
- A woman in the 300 block of East Fourth Street called at 5:07 p.m. Sunday to report a minor verbal dispute with her adult son, who left on foot. She asked for information on her rights regarding an adult child still living with the parents and was told her options.
- A suspicious vehicle was reported at 4:48 p.m. Sunday in the area of East State Street and Park, but could not be located.
- Officers on patrol at 4:32 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard saw a vehicle parked illegally with the left side to the curb in a posted no parking zone. The driver was contacted and moved the vehicle.
PERRY TWP.
- Camellia P. Taylor, 32, of 33081 Votaw Drive, Lisbon, was taken into custody on a Columbiana County warrant for failure to appear after a traffic stop at 8:52 a.m. Saturday on South Lincoln Avenue at Snyder Road.
- A Garfield Road resident reported the driver of a teal lifted diesel pickup following him around Salem and said the unknown male had previously followed him to his neighborhood on a previous occasion. According to the report, the resident had gone to the Salem Police Department after being cut off in the city, but the dispatcher sent him to Perry Township Police since he lives in the township.
- A Beechwood Road resident reported hearing gunshots in the area of the Goshen Road and Beechwood Road intersection at 7:39 p.m. Friday. Police did not locate anyone shooting.
- A woman from Highland East came to the police station at 5:28 p.m. Friday to talk with an officer about juvenile problems with her child. She was given her options.
- An officer on patrol at 11:11 a.m. Friday located property damage to a yard in the 1700 block of state Route 9 where it appeared a vehicle had lost control and traveled into a yard, causing damage. A neighbor said they heard a vehicle make a disturbance sometime overnight and by the time they went outside to check, the vehicle was leaving.
Columbiana
- Stephanie A. Coman, 31, New Waterford, was cited for driving under suspension and red light at 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
- John R. Pinkerton, 19, Sebring, was taken into custody on an active felony warrant through the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office following a traffic stop on North Main Street at 7:27 a.m. Sunday.
- A woman reported at 6:43 p.m. Sunday a person in a gray Envoy was driving recklessly southbound on state Route 164 near the Dutch Haus. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.
- A Phoenix, Ariz., man reported at 12:29 a.m. Saturday he and his mother used to live in the city and someone from the area has been calling her phone saying they are going to have her arrested.
- Brian K. Fisher, 27, Wellsville, was taken into custody on a Columbiana County Sheriff's warrant following a traffic stop on East Park Avenue at 6:36 a.m. Saturday.
- Benjamin H. Wiley Sr., 39, Leetonia, was cited for driving under suspension and fictitious registration following a traffic stop in the Duke and Duchess parking lot at 7:45 a.m. Saturday.
- A man requested at 10:55 a.m. Saturday an officer escort him to his semi truck at RC Fabricating to do a property exchange with his wife.
- Someone reported at 6:26 p.m. Saturday a black vehicle that was westbound on state Route 14 was driving recklessly. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.
- Someone reported at 6:45 p.m. Saturday four kids were "messing around" in the laundromat. Police spoke with the kids who said they had gone inside to get out from the cold.
- Police assisted the Leetonia Police Department with a fight at the Eagles at 11:29 p.m. Friday.
