Home extension to meet

SALEM Goshen Home Extension plans to meet for lunch at 11 a.m. March 8 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Seven and One Club meets

SALEM - The Seven and One Club met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Fred Weingart. Guests included her sister, Mrs. Marty Catlos, and Tracy Dearth. A Valentine theme in red prevailed featuring barbecued pork sandwiches, raspberry Jello and a cherry cake dessert. Cards were played and prizes won by Mrs. Herb Bott, first place; Mrs. Catlos, second; Mrs. Gerald Mincks, low; and Mrs. Larry Dearth, travel. The club celebrated its 49th year in February. To continue the festivities members and their husbands are invited to dinner at 6 p.m. March 6 at Firestone Links. The next meeting begins at 7 p.m. March 20 at the Mincks home on Seacrist Road.

SCC women's event slated

SALEM - Vendor and/or advertising tables, sponsorship and event tickets are still available for the Salem Community Center's fourth annual Women's Night Out on March 20. Women's Night Out centers around information, products and services for females of all ages. Last year's event was sold out, and 400 women are expected to attend this year's event. Participants will enjoy a night of information, dinner, shopping and entertainment by featured speaker Judson Laipply. All proceeds from this event will benefit the operation of the SCC Children's Fitness Center. Event tickets will only be available through March 11. Creative Clovers 4-Hers meet

SALEM - Creative Clovers 4-H Club met on Feb. 16 with 13 members in attendance. The Thanksgiving collection for the Haven of Rest in Akron and the tour of the Haven of Rest were discussed. For new business it was announced that meetings will be held on the third of each month. Members are to think of a community service project, a fund raiser and a field trip. Enrollment forms were completed. The new officers are President Reagan Kornbau, Vice President Taylor Burns, Secretary Haley Thompson, Treasurer Bell Norris, News Reporter Christopher Greenfield, Health Reporter Carrie Burns, Safety Reporter Cole Norris, Energy Reporter Matthew Sinley and the recreation leaders are Makenzie Kornbau and Gabby Hill.

CWW to hold meeting

COLUMBIANA - Community Christian Women will meet March 11 at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbiana. Suzanne Horvath and Ginny Perkins will present "The Life of Jesus in Song" via piano, flute, organ and guitar. The meeting begins with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $6. All reservations should be made with your church representative by March 7. All others may call Carolyn Beck at 330-482-2155 or Helen Winegord at 330-482-2152. All area women are invited to attend.

Ballroom Boogie scheduled

GIRARD - "Mad Hot Monday Ballroom Boogie" is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. March 4, featuring ballroom, Latin, and swing and hustle, at Kuzman's, 1025 S. State St., Girard. Admission is free.
