County Disabilities board to meet
LISBON - The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at the administration office, 7675 state Route 45.
SALEM - Salem High School Class of 1946 plans to meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 26 and March 26 at Adele's Place.
Indoor flea market scheduled Feb. 23
SALEM - The annual indoor winter yard sale and flea market will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St.
Reservations for table rental are now being accepted by calling the Memorial Building at 330-332-5512. Cost is $20 for an 8-foot table with two chairs. Lunch will be available for purchase.
Indoor yard sale set at Salem High
SALEM - The Salem High School Chapter of National Honor Society will sponsor a large indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 23 in the school cafeteria. "This will be the second year that the school has had such an event," said Robert Viencek, NHS advisor. "We're looking to the community for donations for the sale. These would include holiday decorations, sporting equipment, household items, books, games, garden tools, etc. The things we can't accept are bicycles, clothing and shoes. The churches in town do great rummage sales-the clothes should go to them." Donated items may be dropped off from 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the cafeteria. Student workers will be available to help people unload their items.
Quaker City Band practices to begin
SALEM The Salem Quaker City Band will begin band practice from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 4 in the Salem High School band room. Anyone who has been thinking of picking up and playing their musical instrument, or wants to brush up their instrument skills, is welcome to attend.
Ladies Elk Auxiliary
SALEM - Applications for the Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship may be obtained at the Elk Lodge, Salem High School, or from a member of the Scholarship Committee.
Two $500 awards will be given in May. Awards are given to seniors whose father or stepfather, mother or stepmother is a member in good standing in Elks Lodge 305. One scholarship is for academic and one for vocational. Students may apply for a Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship, which is a separate one from the main lodge.
