SALEM - Norman H. Miller, 88, of Salem, Ohio, died Sunday evening, Feb. 10, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital with his family at his side.
He was born June 28, 1924 in Weirton, W.Va., the son of the late Harry and Mary (Simon) Miller.
Mr. Miller was a graduate of Goshen High School and attended college. Before his retirement, he was an insurance representative with Metropolitan Life Insurance for 25 years. Following his retirement, he was a security guard at Carriage Hill and also served as Safety Director for Salem.
Norman served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
His wife, Maxine V. (Klemann) Miller, preceded him in death Dec. 4, 1988. Two sisters, Alberta Stallsmith and Marcele Cammel, and a brother, Marvene Cammel also preceded him in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Norma Jean Exline, Pamela Kay (Gene) Rinkes and Boni Sue (Gary) Lombardo; a sister, Madeline Bowman; grandchildren, Kim Exline, David (Jennifer) Exline Jr., Douglas (Denise)
Exline, Jaime Lipp, Jennifer (Zac) Cross, Jeff (Ang) Lombardo, Jillian (Eric) Anthony, Jocelyn Lombardo and Mark Norman Lombardo; great-grandchildren, Cole, McKenna, Jack, Ellysa, Blaize, Bairon, Madison, Andyn, Layla and Jolee; nieces, Carol Hoehn and Janet Vogelhuber; and loving caregiver, Carol Basinger.
Private services for the family will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Congemi officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
