On Friday, Wellsville gradually gained a lead on Lowellville, and it was a slow process according to coach Bug Thompson.

"It was pretty slow tempo,"?he said. "We played at their pace, but we must have done it right because we won."

Nate Scott paced the Tigers with a game-high 18 points, while Camden Douglas finished with 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Jordan Sloan netted 10 points, and Seth Bradford had six points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

In reserve action, Lowellville won, 45-38. Jansen Stoakes paced the Tigers with 26 points.

Wellsville has three league games left beginning Monday at home against Western Reserve. The Tigers will also get another shot at McDonald before finishing the season with Columbiana.

"We have to take care of business on Monday,"?Thompson said. "I'd take a tie (with McDonald) for the league title. That's what we're hoping for now."
