Perry seeks safety levy renewal

January 29, 2013
By MARY ANN GREIER , Salem News

PERRY TWP. - Township residents will be asked to renew a 1.5-mill safety forces levy to pay for equipment, repairs and communications expenses in the police and fire departments for another five years. Perry Township Trustees agreed Monday to place the levy on the May 7 ballot, noting that renewal of the levy won't cost taxpayers any additional money. The trustees had already voted during a recent special meeting to have the amount for the levy certified by the Columbiana County Auditor's Office.
