Vandalism at United Local

January 28, 2013
Salem News

An investigation continues into a serious act of vandalism. Twelve of United Local's school buses were out of commission Friday morning after someone stabbed the bus tires and left fuel doors open. A total of 36 tires were damaged beyond repair. The cost to replace them was estimated at $14,400. Four tires had been stabbed on seven school buses and five buses had tires that were stabbed on one side. The fuel doors were also found open on the 12 buses. School was on a two-hour delay as buses from the Salem and West Branch districts were used to help transport students. (Salem News photo by Patti Schaeffer)
