EL man gets probation for benefits violation

LISBON -In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Nathaniel D. Carter, 30, McKinnon Road, East Liverpool, was sentenced to four years intensive probation and ordered to pay $407.94 in restitution to the Department of Job and Family Services for illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistant program benefits, a fourth-degree felony.

Corey D. Cope, 21, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, was sentenced eight months in a state correctional facility with credit for 73 days served for probation violation. Cope had requested continuation of the probation he was serving for complicity to burglary from February of 2011 but was denied.

Robert J. Lutman, 37, state Route 517, Lisbon, was placed on four years probation and had his driver's license suspended six months for possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony.
