Mineral Ridge 70, East Palestine 66 OT

MINERAL RIDGE - Somehow it wasn't enough.

East Palestine's Austen Resier recorded a double with 33 points and 18 rebounds, but Mineral Ridge outscored the Bulldogs, 9-5, in overtime to pull out a 70-66 victory at home.

The loss drops East Palestine down to .500 on the season at 4-4. The Bulldogs are 4-2 in the ITCL . Mineral Ridge is 5-1 in league play.

The Bulldogs were down 61-58, and Resier was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 2.5 seconds left. Resier made all three foul shots to send the game into overtime.

"We scored first in overtime, and then they went up six or seven points and we had to foul," East Palestine head coach Tom Bingham said. "They played extremely well after an 18-day layoff. I feel bad for them. They played their hearts out."

Also for East Palestine, Nate Keylor recorded 18 points to go along with 10 assists, Nick Monteleone ended up with seven points and Steve Parker produced six points. Finally, Billy Bibby tallied two points.

Nate Palmer recorded 25 points to lead the way for the Rams.

East Palestine led 14-11 after the first quarter, but the Rams fought back in the second stanza to take a 32-26 lead at halftime. The Bulldogs led 44-43 entering the fourth quarter.

Mineral Ridge won the JV game, 41-26.

Phil Fusetti tallied seven points in the loss for the Bulldogs.

East Palestine's next game is Friday at South Range.
