"The kids swam well," East Liverpool head coach Tim?Diddle said. "We had been off since Dec. 18. Our last meet was down at Edison.

"The kids swam well for being off that long without any competition."

Matt Campbell was the lone Potter to finish first in a race. Campbell finished first in the 50 free style with a time of 24.41.

"He was our only winner on either side," Diddle said. "We had swimmers set multiple new best times, but they weren't school records.

"Everything is going good so far this season. I hope it keeps going well."

There were 21 boys' teams and 22 girls' teams at the meet.

"The girls are right where I thought they would be," Diddle said. "The boys are ahead of where I?thought they would be."

East Liverpool's next meet is Monday in a tri-meet with Barnesville at Wheeling Park.

"The kids competed well today," Diddle said. "Youngstown State has a very-nice pool up there by the way."
