NEGLEY - Freeda Mae Salmons, 78, State Line Road, died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Salmons was born Aug. 17, 1934 in Lincoln Co., WV, a daughter of the late Van and Fannie Workman Alford, and had resided in the Negley area since 2001, coming from West Virginia.
Her husband, William A. Salmons, whom she married Oct. 5, 1952, preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2000. A son, Larry E. Salmons, and two daughters, Dreama and Rebecca, six brothers, and three sisters, had also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Kitty Mazur, Willodene Mackall, and Leanna Davis, all of West Virginia; and three sons, William A. and Raymond N. Salmons, both of West Virginia, and Clinton Salmons , East Liverpool. She also leaves a sister, Estellene Neace, Idaho; 25 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine from 6-8 p.m. today. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pinnacle Block Church in Julian, WV, with Chuck Gillispie officiating. Burial will be in Sias Cemetery, Lincoln Co., WV.
