COLUMBIANA - Mary Ethel Dunbar, 91, died at 9 p.m. Sunday at her home in Columbiana.

Mary Ethel was born July 28, 1921 in Green Tree, PA, a daughter of the late Mary Ethel (Gamble) Bullions and Charles Schwab Bullions.

She spent her youth in Green Tree and Carnegie, PA. Mary Ethel was a homemaker and for 17 years was a first grade teacher at Crestview Elementary School, retiring in 1987. She received her bachelor's degree from Kent State University before earning her master's degree from Westminster College. Ethel was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Reader's Guild and a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, as well as a Sunday school teacher in Columbiana.

Her husband, Richard S. Dunbar, whom she married May 7, 1941 preceded her in death in 1993.

Survivors include her children, David Allen of Houston, TX, John Charles and wife Emily of Houston, TX, Betty Jane and husband Dick Simpson of Columbiana and Anna Wrask of Salem; a sister, Betty Anderson of Mt. Lebanon, PA and five grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Carolyn Griffeth officiating.

Interment will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday. Condolences may be sent online at www.familycareservices.com The family would like to express its special thanks to Hospice of the Valley.
