SALEM - Yolanda Jane Nicotera, 83, of Salem, died at 4:22 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Salem Community Hospital with her sons at her side.
She was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Fairmont, W. Va., a daughter of the late John and Mary (Condino) Ciliberto.
Yolanda grew up in Struthers, Ohio, then moved to Leetonia where she spent most of her adult life. She was the quiet person in the room, always a smile, and never a bad word about anyone. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church.
Her husband, Frank Dominic Nicotera, whom she married Oct. 28, 1947, preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1997. A sister, Virginia Pando and a brother, Robert Ciliberto also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Frank (Annette) Nicotera of Medina, Anthony (Jeanne) Nicotera of Columbiana, Michael (Dodie) Nicotera of Salem and Gene (Gayle) Nicotera of Columbiana; a brother, John Ciliberto of Poland; close friend, Dan Prather; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
