LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Dirk S. Weston, 49, state Route 164, Lisbon, was bound over to the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury on an assault charge. According to court documents, Weston is accused of repeatedly threatening to take a gun from Patrolman Steven Thomas of Salineville police and threatening to kill Thomas, as well as assaulting him by attempting to strangle him with his handcuffs while in custody.

Kevin C. Blackburn, 27, East Fifth Street, Salem, was fined $1,575, had his license suspended for 180 days, sentenced to 15 days in jail and required to pay $384 in restitution to Lottie Roach within 30 days for drug possession, drug abuse, drug paraphernalia, OVI first offense, failure to control, hit skip and marked lanes. Court documents claim Blackburn had Alprazolam, Clonazepam and marijuana.

Mitchell A. Hill, 28, Jefferson Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,225, had his license suspended for a year, was sentenced to 20 days in jail and required 40 hours community service for OVI second offense, driving on a closed highway and driving under OVI suspension. A citation of driving without a valid sticker was dismissed.

Gregory E. Weber, 46, East Canton, was fined $775, was sentenced to three days in jail, had his license suspended for six months and required 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and resisting arrest for running from the vehicle causing a highway patrol trooper to tase and mace him. A lane violation citation was dismissed.

Hugh W. Fraser, 53, Tower Road, Salem, was fined $725, had his license suspended for six months and sentenced to 25 days in jail for OVI first offense and handling firearms while intoxicated amended from a felony charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

James Bagley III, 22, East High Street, Leetonia, was fined $100, sentenced to three days in jail and required 50 hours community service for persistent disorderly conduct for a fight he was involved in along with six others at the Leetonia coke ovens in May, which led to two people being hospitalized after they were struck by a vehicle.

A Jan. 3 pretrial was set for David J. Daniels III charged with two counts of domestic violence. Court documents alleged Daniels, 37, South Main Street, Columbiana, assaulted both his wife and their child on Friday, throwing the boy around the house, attempting to smother him and attempting to choke his wife while threatening to kill them.

A Jan. 14 pretrial was set for George A. Burkey, 47, North Jefferson Street, Lisbon, cited for driving under a child support suspension.

A Jan. 22 pretrial was set for Timothy R. Smith, 23, Pidgeon Road, Salem, charged with criminal damaging for allegedly driving his truck into a field on Gromley Road on Friday.

A Jan. 24 pretrial was set for Anthony R. Kelly, 24, Main Street, Leetonia, charged with domestic violence for allegedly throwing an item described as a toy cell phone or something similar and striking a 6-year-old girl in the head while Kelly was being evicted from his apartment on Friday.

A Jan. 29 pretrial was set for April D. Mettenberger, 32, Campground Road, Wellsville, charged with OVI first offense and a seat belt violation.

A Feb. 5 pretrial was set for Michael F. Lewis, 29, last known address Caldwell Street, Lisbon, charged with theft for allegedly taking two packages of doughnuts valued at 75 cents each from Quaker Village on Saturday.

A Feb. 7 pretrial was set for Ryan E. Sevenich, 22, Metz Road, Columbiana, charged with OVI first offense and failure to yield the right of way.
