Mr. and Mrs. William A. Lewis celebrate 65th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. William A. Lewis of 879 E. Fifth St., Salem, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Nov. 26.

The former Doris Jean Riley, daughter of late Warren and Elizabeth Riley of Chester W.Va., and Mr. Lewis, son of the late Harry and Maxine Lewis of Chester, were married on Nov. 26, 1947, at the home of the bride's parents.

The couple has three children, Jeff Lewis (Belinda Rance), Elizabeth and Gary Guappone, and Jim and Nancy Lewis, all of Salem.

Mr. Lewis retired from the former First National Bank and Cardinal Development.

Mrs. Lewis retired from Salem Community Hospital.

The couple also has three grandchildren, Sarah (Guappone) and John Foster of Canfield, Scott and (Niko Jackson) Guappone and Brad Lewis, both of Salem. A grandchild, Michael Lewis, is deceased. They also have five great-grandchildren, Cody Darringer and Johnny Foster, both of Canfield, MacKenzie MacMillian, Xander Jackson and Eli Guappone, all of Salem.

A private family dinner is planned for a later date.
