NORTH LIMA - The death of a Salem construction worker following a fall Wednesday at a North Lima business is under investigation.

Alex Hrovatic, 19, reportedly fell through a roof 25 feet to cement ground at Mahoning Valley Water on South Street Extention (state Route 164) Wednesday morning.

Hrovatic worked for Witmer's Construction east of Washingtonville. He succumbed to injuries early Thursday.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), along with the Mahoning County Coroner's Office, are investigating.

A cause of death is expected to be released today.

According to Beaver Township Fire Chief Russ Osborne, EMS personnel responded at 10:30 a.m. of a man who fell through the roof at facility. He said they found bystanders and co-workers administering CPR to the unconscious victim, assumed the life-saving efforts and had him enroute to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boardman within three minutes.

A representative at Witmer's Construction said no one was available for comment about the incident.

Hrovatic's Facebook page said he graduated from Salem High School in 2010 and attended Stark State College.
