SALEM - Eleanor Katherine Kost, 75, of Liberty Township, Youngstown, who made her home in Salem the last six months with her sister, died Monday evening, Dec. 17, 2012 at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.
She was born June 9, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest Frederick and
Angelika (Hansch) Kost.
Eleanor was a 1955 graduate of Liberty High School and graduated from Wittenberg University with a degree in food and nutrition. She worked for a number of years at the Youngstown Hospital Association, worked at the Cafaro Hospital in Youngstown and at Shepard of the Valley in Niles.
Survivors include her sister, Elaine Rousseau-Kothera of Salem; two nieces, Gwen Rousseau of Salem and Mariah Rousseau of Gahanna, Ohio; a nephew, Jeremy Rousseau of Helen, Ga.; and a great-nephew, Alec Tuohy of Gahanna, Ohio.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas George officiating. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the services.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the Tod Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Bill Wessner officiating. Burial will be at Tod Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
