SALEM - Charles R. Huston, 77, of Salem, Ohio, died at 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday,
Dec. 19, 2012 at the Blossom Nursing and Rehab Center in Salem.
He was born July 8, 1935 in Paden City, W. Va., the son of the late Charles and Virginia (Bowser) Huston.
Before his retirement in 1993, Mr. Huston had worked 39 years at General Motors in Lordstown where he was a W.E.M.R. He was a graduate of Paden City High School and a member of the Salem First Christian Church. Charles served with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1956 in Germany and North Africa.
He was very active volunteer of Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army and loved to travel.
Survivors include sons, Rick (Laurie) Huston of Winona and Brian (Charlene) of Durham, New Hampshire; a daughter, Janet Cobb of Salem; two sisters, Alice Carrick of Westlake, Ohio and Nancy Cressman of Medina; and seven grandchildren.
His wife, Sandra, whom he married June 24, 1960, preceded him in death in July 23, 2010. A sister, Barbara Humberger also preceded him in death.
Private family services and burial will be held at Noon on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at Foxfield Preserve in Wilmot, Ohio with the Rev. Leonard Moore officiating. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Habitat for Humanity, 468 Prospect Street, Salem, Ohio 44460 and Salvation Army, P.O. Box 703, Salem, OH 44460.
