The Howland girls' basketball team jumped out to a big lead and did not look back in recording a 78-19 victory Thursday night over Beaver Local at the Beaver Dome.
Sierra wright tallied four points to lead the way for the Beavers.

Kati Hipsley contributed a game-high 16 points to lead the Southern Local girls' basketball team to a 44-31 victory Thursday night at Leetonia.
Also for the Indians (3-2, 2-1), Rachel Coil collected 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Bears won the JV game, 21-6.
Hannah Brothers scored all six points for the Indians.

Tigers sweep Eagles
HANOVERTON - The Wellsville 7th and 8th grade boys' basketball teams earned a sweep Thursday at United.
The Tigers won the 7th grade game, 28-18.
Will Broadhaus scored 11 points for the Tigers (4-0), and Andre Sloan and Brandon Patterson each netted six.
Wellsville won the 8th grade game, 47-36.
Justin Miller recorded 16 points for the Tigers (3-1), and Bradley Cline ended up with eight.
Wellsville plays Monday at home against Lowellville.

Beavers earn split
CALCUTTA - The Beavers split with the Redskins.
The Beaver Local 7th and 8th grade basketball teams earned a split Wednesday night against Indian Creek. Beaver Local won the 7th grade game, 25-2. Kierra Taylor, Courtney Elliott and Alexa Schwerha led the Beavers (3-1) in scoring.
Indian Creek won the 8th grade game, 34-13. Dakota Heaton and Katie Barber led the way for Beaver Local.
