United 1961 lunch planned
HANOVERTON - United Local High School Class of 1961 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.
Disabilities board to meet
LISBON - The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities plans to meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at the administration office, 7675 state Route 45.
Polar Express exhibit open
EAST LIVERPOOL - Admission is free to the Polar Express exhibit at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. A train leaves daily at 5 p.m. with letters for Santa written by children. Sign-ups are being accepted for the drawing of a Keystone Pennsylvania Train Set donated by Crouse Tru Value of North Lima.
Blood drive scheduled
SALEM - Salem Community Hospital and the Salem Community Center are co-sponsoring a blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. Dec. 28 at the SCC, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave.
Individuals who have not donated blood since Nov. 2 are eligible to give, and new donors are welcome. All donors will be entered in a drawing for a Das Dutch Haus gift certificate. Appointments may be made by calling 330-332-7227. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
Swim lessons set in January
SALEM - Swim lesson programs begin Jan. 12 at the Salem Community Center and continue every Saturday through March 2. Six learn to swim levels are available, along with a Mommy and Me level for infants and their parent. Cost is $70 for non-members and $55 for members. A multiple child discount is available. Free tax clinics offered
LISBON - The Family and Community Resource Center is holding four tax clinics during the 2012-13 tax season, with more possible sites for tax completion in the works. This is a free service provided to those making $60,000 and below.
The first tax clinic in coordination with the statewide tax event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 2 at the FCRC Community Center at 134 S. Market St., Lisbon.
Wellsville Public Library at 115 Ninth St., Wellsville, will hold the second one from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 15.
East Liverpool area residents can attend one of two OBB Tax Clinics: at KSU-East Liverpool, 400 E. Fourth St. from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 1; or Shining Reflections at 509 M. St. from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 5.
