SALEM - The weekly R-Weigh weight groups met at the Faith Chapel. A loss of 44 pounds was recorded for two weeks.
The Nov. 19 afternoon meetings good losers were JoAnne Bogdan and Sylvia Eller. Rachel Weaver was the goalie for the week and also won the can-do monetary drawing.
The evening group enjoyed an entertaining Christmas party after dinner at Das Dutch Haus with Margie Dale, dressed as an elf, along with a surprise Santa Claus, passed out gifts to the members.
Each member received a goody bag made by Carol Held and a candy cane favor made by Birdie Reinhart. Fruit baskets made by Reinhart and Linda Lude along with large fresh pineapples and gift certificates were given as door prizes.
Lude presented her written Christmas poem and led the singing of Christmas carols. Dale announced that a $175 monetary gift was given to the Salvation Army by the members. A monetary appreciation gift was given to leader Gerry Heffinger from the members.
At the Nov. 26 meeting, the good loser for the week was Mary Hefner. Sandy McGarr and Jo Carol Gray were the goalies. Roni Fauver and Lude won the can-do monetary drawings. The turkey contest winners at the afternoon group were Rene Haver, Joyce Sanders, Eller and Bogdan. The evening winners were Donna Greenamyer, Nancy Stryffeler, Sandy Shipton, Diane Hart, Jane Menough, Reinhart, Dale and Hefner.
The afternoon group weigh-ins are from 11:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 3 with the Christmas party at Adele's Place at 12:15 p.m. The evening group will have its annual fun auction buying items with play money they received of $1 for each pound they lost so far in 2012.
