Winona Ruritans approve 2013 slate of officers

WINONA-The Winona Ruritan Club met on Nov. 13 at the Winona Methodist Church. Members of the Ladies Hazel Circle of the church served the meal. Thirty members were present. Elmer R. Stamp lead the group in singing "Happy Birthday" to members Rob Donaldson, Wayne Herron and Leonard Lance. Congratulations were extended to member Jim Coy and his wife Esther for celebrating 60 years of wedded bliss and to member Don Sanor and his wife Ruth who are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. Secretary Lee Stamp read the minutes of the October meeting and the November board of directors meetings and both were approved as given. Treasurer Bob Doyle gave the financial report which was approved as given.

President John Stamp presented the state officers for 2013. Nominated are President Homer Althouse, Vice President John Stamp, Treasurer Bob Doyle, Secretary Lee Stamp, Three-Year Director Dean Sidewell, Two-Year Director Rob Donaldson and One-Year Director Chip Althouse. Chris Stamp moved the nominations be closed and the state of officers be unanimously approved. Donovan Winn introduced his guest for the evening, Bob Winn.

Donovan Winn made a motion to increase the yearly dues due to the ever increasing cost of food to prepare the meals, motion passed. Secretary Lee Stamp reminded everyone that the December meeting is moved ahead by one week due to the holidays.

Reservations for the member and guest dinner must be made by Dec. 8. Hors d'oeurves will be served at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Jim Mohr reported the cost of purchasing T-shirts for the members to wear at the fund raiser and community events. John Stamp referred the matter to the board of directors.
