SALEM REPORTS

- Police in the 1600 block of S. Lincoln Ave. at 5:58 a.m. made a traffic stop and charged Luis R. Ramos with driving under suspension and the New Jersey registration was also suspended. He was also charged with speeding.

- Police responded to the 300 block of S. Madison Ave. at 6:30 a.m.Sunday for a suspicious activity report but were unable to locate anything.

- Steven C. Collar of Mercer, Pa. was stopped at 1:07 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of N. Ellsworth Ave. after police observed his vehicle being operated driving on the rim with sparks coming from it. He was charged with OVI, open container and a fictitious registration.

- Police responded to the 1900 block of E. State St. at 11:24 p.m. Saturday to check on an intoxicated man who walked away from the hospital and were unable to locate him.

- Police responded to the 800 block of W. Perry St. at 4:48 p.m. Saturday and spoke to a resident who had caught the neighbor's at-large dog and returned it to its owner and a verbal altercation resulted. The dog's owner was advised of the city ordinance against dogs running at large and the complainant was advised to call police the next time since the dog owner didn't want the complainant on her property.

- Police responded to the 500 block of Walnut St. at 6 p.m. Saturday where a man, possibly with a gun was threatening people. No one there intended on harming anyone and the rifle was put away. Two people had been arguing over a dog and were advised to stay away from each other.

- A resident in the 600 block of Olive St. advised police at 6:32 p.m. Saturday he sold his pickup for cash to a Pittsburgh resident at noon. The buyer used the license plates to drive the vehicle home with the complainant's permission but had not returned them at the time of the report. The complainant tried calling but there was no answer and he didn't know the name or address of the person. the complainant was advised of the options.

- Police received a report of an intoxicated driver eastbound on W. State St. at 7:09 p.m. Saturday and located the vehicle in a lot in the 1700 block of E. State St. The driver denied being intoxicated and no violations were detected.

- Police responded to the 900 block of E. 6th St. at 8:47 p.m. Saturday for a report of an altercation that occurred nearly Hawley Ave. It was a dispute between a father and son.

- Police responded to the S. Lundy Ave. and E. State St. at 11:50 a.m. Saturday after an anonymous complainant witnessed a man drinking and driving a green Chevy truck. Police were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

- Police checked at residence in the 900 block of S. Union Ave. at 12:02 p.m. Saturday for a suspicious person at the back but were unable to locate anyone.
