SHERIFF'S OFFICE

November 18, 2012
Salem News

- William Winn, Seacrist Road, Salem, reported at 8 a.m. Saturday he received a Ruger Blackhawk .44 Magnum pistol from his brother-in-law who lives in Germantown and that his brother-in-law who is a mechanic said he got it as payment from a man from the Dayton area who wanted him to do some work on his car. Winn reported that he was given the gun to see if he wanted to use it for deer hunting and requested deputies see if the gun was legitimate. After conducting a search of the serial number on the weapon deputies learned the gun was reported stolen in 2010. Winn then turned the gun over to the deputies.
