SALEM REPORTS

- Police responded to the 600 block of Fair Ave. at 2:41 a.m. Sunday regarding an unwanted person after speaking with the person she voluntarily left and was advised not to return.

- Police charged Elizabeth A. Schneider, 41101 state Route 518, Lisbon, at 7:31 a.m. Saturday with driving under suspension and leaving the scene after she struck a vehicle in front of 465 E. State St. while traveling eastbound. She was located on Maple St. near Franklin Ave. She struck the vehicle owned by Raymond Morrow, 3747 Depot Road, Salem.

- Police responded to the 300 block of E. State St. at 2:57 a.m Sunday after the county sheriff advised of a 911 call from an intoxicated man requesting a cab. He was located and advised of the proper use of 911 and a cab was called for him.

- Police responded to the 200 block of Roosevelt Ave. at 2:07 a.m. Sunday along with the fire department and an ambulance for a man who was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

- Police responded to the 1200 block of N. Ellsworth Ave. at 1:35 a.m. Sunday regarding a 911 hangup. The home owner advised that everything was fine.

- At 1:24 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 500 block of S. Broadway Ave. regarding a fight and learned the people involved had left and no further problems were observed.

- Police received a call at 5:12 p.m. Saturday from the 700 block of Newgarden Ave. where an unwanted person was pounding on the door. No one was observed and the complainant advised that the neighbor across the street had loaned them a firearm to be pawned for $100. The neighbor's son came over a short time earlier demanding the gun back but was gone when police arrived. Police spoke to the neighbor's adult son who advised that his father had paid back the $100 and wanted the gun back, however the complainant claimed he could not immediately retrieve it. The son further said the complainant has been making excuses for nearly a week about not returning it and he had gone over to confront him. The complainant said the person with it is a truck driver who is currently out of town and it will be returned as soon as he returns.

- Police responded to the 500 block of N. Ellsworth Ave. at 5:50 p.m. Saturday after the Lisbon Help Line called about an adult female who was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

- While on patrol at 6:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2800 block of E. State St. police were advised of a vehicle operating in a reckless manner and spoke to the driver. The were familiar with the driver and no violations were observed.

- Police received a complaint on station at 10:37 a.m. Saturday from a person who said he was accused of stealing cigars from the super USA store. He said he didn't have them on his person but offered to pay for them along with a cup of coffee. He was told not to go back to the store, however he stated he left $20 on the counter and wants his change.

- Police received a complaint on station at 12:35 p.m. Saturday from a person who advised that between 3 and 6 p.m. Oct. 17 her locked apartment was entered and $60 was missing.
