LISBON - The Columbiana County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bomb threat made against the local Obama-Biden campaign headquarters on Friday afternoon.
Sheriff Ray Stone said some campaign workers from another location were placing phone calls when they called an East Liverpool-area number about 2 p.m. The man who answered became angry and threatened to blow up the local Obama headquarters, which is located just north of Lisbon on state Route 45.
The campaign staff that placed the call contacted the sheriff's office concerned about the safety of their staff at the Lisbon office. As a precaution, Stone said deputies and Lisbon firefighters went to the office but no one was there and the doors were locked.
Stone said the investigation is continuing and charges may result.
