LISBON - The Lisbon Area Amateur Radio Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency at 215 S. Market St. Anyone interested in amateur radio is invited to attend.

LEETONIA - The Leetonia High School Class of 1962 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Friday at Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana.

'Drive-thru' flu clinic

SALEM - The Salem Area Visiting Nurse Association is hosting a "drive-thru" flu clinic, weather-permitting, from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at 718 E. Third St. In case of inclement weather, the clinic will be held inside the office. Cost is $20. SAVNA will bill Medicare Part B or Anthem Senior Advantage Products (YRA, YRE, YRI and YRS prefixes only). Those attending are to bring their insurance card. Homebound clients may call 330-332-9986 to schedule a date and time for the shot.

Columbiana Legion fish fry

COLUMBIANA - An all-you-can eat fish fry will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at American Legion Post 290. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children.

Salem 1969 get toghether

Woodsdale Cemetery

BUTLER TOWNSHIP - The Butler Township trustees have requested that all summer decorations be removed from Woodsdale Cemetery by Saturday or they will be discarded.

EP?community dinner

EAST PALESTINE - Centenary United Methodist Church at 40 S. Market St., will host a community dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall. The menu includes sauerkraut, kielbasa, pork, mashed potatoes, applesauce, bread, dessert and beverage. Adult portions are $7, $3 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children under 5. Spooktacular Funfest

YOUNGSTOWN - Mill Creek MetroParks Spooktacular Funfest will be held from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Judge Morley Pavilion in James L. Wick Recreation Area. This free family event helps families have a safe and fun Halloween. Kids come dressed in their best costume and trick or treat at vendor booths and play fun games. Families will enjoy a concert by Hey Kid (3:15 p.m.), antics of Jocko the Clown, and a mummy wrap contest. Bud & Sandy's Concessions will be there with hot dogs, popcorn, and other goodies. Hot beverages will also be for sale.

Register at 12:30 for the children's costume contest. There will even be a special competition for costumed pets at 1 p.m. (pets must be secured on a leash). For information, call Mill Creek MetroParks Recreation Department at 330-740-7106.

'Quarter auction' for preschool

LEETONIA - A "quarter auction" to benefit Leetonia Bears to Bee Preschool begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick's Hall. Doors open at 1 p.m. Cost is $3 per paddle. Those attending will need at least one roll of quarters. For information call Shelly Moore at 330-831-5578.

Fall fest in Homeworth

HOMEWORTH - A fall festival will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Homeworth Road. Hot sandwiches, salads, desserts and beverages will be available. The event, sponsored by the Youth Fellowship, is open to the public. Profits earned will help support Carissa Cabassa, a member of the congregation who serves as a missionary with Youth With a Mission in Guatemala.

SALEM - Lunch at Ezio's is planned for members of the Salem High School Class of 1943 at 1 p.m. Oct. 23.

Kaiser/National retirees

SALEM - Kaiser/National retirees and past employees will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 25 at Adele's Place.

Prayer Days for Nation set

SALEM - "Prayer Days for the Nation" will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26 at the First Christian Church chapel, 1151 E. Sixth St. All are welcome, either day, any time.

Trunk or treat planned

COLUMBIANA - Trunk or treat will be held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

Frustration relief program

SALEM - Thelma Rist, SWA of the Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, will present a program on ways to reduce frustration, take care of yourself, and cope with feelings of being overwhelmed at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Salem Public Library's Quaker Room at 821 E. Memorial service planned

COLUMBIANA - A memorial service begins at 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Columbiana Cemetery, across from Firestone Pool. Participants include Sons of Confederate Veterans and 105th Union reenactors along with members of the Forgotten Heroes Program.

Seats open on NYC bus

SALEM - Seats are still available for the Salem High School freshmen class' charter bus trip to New York City for a day in the city to do as you please. The bus will leave Salem at 11:30 p.m. Nov. 30 and arrive in NYC at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. The bus will depart NYC at 9 p.m. Saturday and return to Salem around 5 a.m. Sunday. Ross Park Mall bus trip

SALEM - The Salem Community Center is sponsoring a bus trip to the Ross Park Mall, which features over 150 unique stores, on Nov. 30. The bus will depart the SCC at 8:30 a.m. and return around 6 p.m. The registration deadline is Nov. 12, or until bus fills. Cost is $20 for SCC member and $23 for non-members. Payments may be made at SCC or over the phone at 330-332-5885.

Builders Club to rake

EAST PALESTINE - The Builders Club of East Palestine Middle School will be raking leaves for the elderly and the disabled again this year. To make arrangements to have leaves raked, free of charge, call the school at 330-426-9451 after 9 a.m. Homeowners are responsible for providing bags.

Mill Creek Par 3 course

YOUNGSTOWN - Mill Creek MetroParks' Par 3 golf course closed for the season on Monday. The batting cages are also closed for the season. The tennis courts and recreation field will remain open as weather permits.

Leetonia Chilli Cook Off

LEETONIA- A Chili Cook Off and Dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 in the high school Cafeteria. Those interested in participating should contact the high school office at 330-427-2115. There is no cost to be a contestant, but contestants must be registered. Cost for public admission is $5. Proceeds will benefit student recognition initiatives, programs and events.

Survivors of Suicide vigil

WARREN - The 14th annual National Survivors of Suicide Day candle vigil begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at Victory Christian Center, 4257 Tod Ave. NW. Anyone who has experienced a loss of a loved one to suicide is welcome and encouraged to attend and to bring photos or signs.
