LISBON - The Columbiana County Farm Bureau is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever burned a live calf belonging to local farmer Ed Sabol.
This is in addition to the $1,000 already in reward money being offered by the operator of a Canfield car wash and $500 put up by an anonymous donor.
Sabol, who has a farm on Lisbon Road, reported Sunday finding one of his calves had been set on fire after being sprayed with an accelerant. He took the calf to his veterinarian, who euthanized the animal.
"The Columbiana County Farm Bureau denounces this action by the person(s) who committed the crime. If you have any information, please contact the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office at 330-424-7255," said farm bureau organization director Nick Kennedy.
